NORWICH TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Norwich Township Board of Trustees approved a grave buy-back for Patricia S. Sprouse at the original purchase price and rescinded a prior motion to correct the purchase name during a special meeting Dec. 16.
Administrator Jamie Fisher explained the rescission of motion #251202.13 was requested to correct the name on a previously approved grave buy-back. Trustee Sonny Cantrell moved to rescind the earlier motion; Vice Chairman Rick Tidd seconded and the vote was unanimous (Motion Passed #251216.02).
The board then considered a buy-back request from Patricia S. Sprouse for a space that was originally purchased Oct. 22, 1984 (Block B, Lot 208, Grave 2) for $300. Fiscal Officer Omar Tarazi and Fisher confirmed the board would repurchase the grave at the original rate of $300. Trustee Cantrell moved to approve the purchase at that rate; Vice Chairman Tidd seconded and the motion passed unanimously (Tidd—Yes; Young—Yes; Cantrell—Yes), recorded as Motion Passed #251216.03.
The minutes do not show additional public testimony or further details about payment timing or the source of funds for the buy-back; those logistics were not specified in the meeting record. The board handled both the rescission and the buy-back as part of routine cemetery administration.
