Loomis board raises unlimited water fee $10, sets new $27.94 monthly rate effective Feb. 1, 2025

The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Trustee Ben Collin and seconded by Chairman Keith Fagot; the vote was recorded as YES from Max (Berry), Melanie (Freeman), Ben (Collin), Keith (Fagot) and Don (Masten).
The resolution states the increase is intended to help keep the municipal water system solvent and to fund recent bond obligations tied to a newly installed well and recent water-main repairs. The resolution text notes the unlimited-use fee had not been changed in more than 12 years and directs an annual review of rates to determine future adjustments.
At the same meeting the board approved the second reading of Ordinance 52.09 (Water Billing regulations). The motion to approve the second reading was moved by Max (Berry) and seconded by Ben (Collin); that motion also carried unanimously. The minutes do not record additional ordinance language beyond the reading and approval action.
The board also discussed a 2% increase to garbage rates; the minutes record that the Village Clerk will set up the new charges but do not show a formal ordinance or vote on the garbage-rate change.
The board recorded no dissent on the water-rate vote; the resolution directs staff to calculate corresponding commercial and school rates "as currently in effect" and to review the rate annually. The next procedural steps in the minutes are routine bookkeeping and publication of the approved actions.
