The Fremont County Board of Commissioners on June 9 approved Resolution 2026-16, a fiscal‑year budget amendment that reallocated revenue and authorized specific transfers and payments. The motion to adopt the amendment was moved by Michael Jones and seconded by Clarence Thomas and carried unanimously.
Under the amendment, the Board approved the following adjustments: $1,000 moved from Agriculture Reimbursement fees (Farm & Ranch Days) to the Agriculture Department for Ag Farm and Ranch Days expenditures; $6,000 in additional grant funding from the Wyoming Department of Health to the Public Health Emergency Preparedness program for salaries, contractual services and supplies; and transfers from cash reserves totaling $83,105 to cover coroner salary increases and related coroner expenses ($31,105 total across several coroner line items), $2,000 to the Public Defender for contractual services, and $50,000 to Statutory Medical to cover Title 25 fees and related medical expenses.
The Board also approved Title 25 payments to the Wyoming Behavioral Institute in the amount of $19,604.00 to satisfy commitments under Title 25 mental‑health proceedings. Treasurer Jim Anderson and Clerk Julie Freese presented the budget hearing materials and answered questions before the vote.
