Board member Donna Moutsatsos summarized the technology committee’s report Dec. 17, saying the district supports "over 800 devices" across students and staff and that the technology department is a four‑person team responsible for devices, Apple TV units, smart boards and other equipment.
Moutsatsos said the district is using COVID funds to buy document cameras and webcams to support remote teaching, is providing hotspots to students without internet, is upgrading elementary iPads and teacher computers and has made Wi‑Fi improvements. She said the technology director is preparing a permission/responsibility and procedure form to be ready before the next school year and noted the district offers device insurance.
She thanked staff members Pam, Gwyneth and Melissa for their work supporting remote learning and said the department has taken on large responsibilities during the pandemic.
