DeWitt Sister City board praises Incoming Goodwill Mission, delays website updates until after January meeting

The DeWitt Sister City Community Board met Oct. 23, 2024, at City Hall and spent the bulk of its discussion debriefing the 2024 Incoming Goodwill Mission and scheduling follow-up work. Chairman Dawn Pysarchik opened the meeting, and the board recorded attendance and routine procedural items before turning to old business.
Board member Benjamin Miller debriefed the board on the luncheon held for the incoming delegation, reporting that the visitors — identified as Mr. and Mrs. Nishimura in the meeting record — were pleased with the visit. Board member Dustin Earley reported on other portions of the DeWitt Day tour and offered suggestions for future Incoming Goodwill Missions.
Chairman Dawn Pysarchik told members that the next State Board meeting is set for January 2025 and said discussion of website status and outreach ideas will be postponed until after that meeting; the board agreed to defer website updates and public-information planning to a later session. The meeting record lists one audience member, Dolly Cairns.
Procedural motions were handled at the start of the meeting. Benjamin Miller moved to approve the agenda; Martin Ackley seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote of the Sister City Board. Miller later moved to approve the minutes of the Sept. 4, 2024 regular meeting; Logan McCarthy seconded and that motion also carried unanimously. Martin Ackley moved to adjourn at 5:01 p.m.; Dustin Earley seconded and the meeting concluded.
City Clerk-Treasurer Sarah Stoltzfus is listed as having submitted the minutes. The board did not set a date for its next meeting during this session.
