"Weve got about a million and a half supporting us along with other districts," Mike said, describing the pooled grant support to participating districts.
Board members asked whether the district had applied directly and were told vendors and partner organizations prepared grant applications to the USDA on behalf of consortia of districts; RSU 12 is a participating partner. Staff said funds also support roles such as a garden coordinator and advisory council participation, and the district is applying for additional grants to upgrade kitchen equipment in some buildings.
