Crawford council names April Grant council president, approves multiple hires and promotions

At its July 23 meeting, the City of Crawford appointed Council Member April Grant as council president and approved multiple personnel moves to address operational needs.
Christopher Dean moved to appoint April Grant as council president; Robert Tovmassian seconded the motion and the appointment carried. The council approved hiring Tonita Groskopf to provide cleaning services for City Hall and the Community Building at $12 per hour and approved a job description for a Parks Lead position.
The council promoted Kevin Hall to Parks Lead at $18 per hour and promoted Augustine Taylor to Parks Laborer at $16 per hour. Joe Frazee was hired as a seasonal parks laborer at $12 per hour. The council also promoted Gina Lemmon to assistant manager of the golf clubhouse, following a report that clubhouse activity and revenue have increased. The council approved retroactive payment of a health-care stipend to Amanda Lager effective June 4, 2024, the end of her 90-day probationary period.
Council approved hiring Phil Pryor to work on the golf tractor and four city trucks and equipment at $25 per hour (amended from an initial motion to cover additional vehicles). All personnel motions included standard seconding and carried with recorded votes.
The personnel approvals are effective immediately and staff were instructed to update payroll and HR records.
