Roxbury appoints three to Board of Appeals, sets special meetings and public hearings

At its May 12 meeting the Roxbury Board of Selectmen accepted three applicants—Howard Whitten, Gerald Martin and Gordon Gamble—for appointment to the Board of Appeals and amended their terms to one year. The motion to accept all three applications and the amendment on term length passed 3-0.
The board also signed Warrant #9 totaling $15,074.70 (motion by Timothy Derouche, second by Matthew Patneaude; vote 3-0). At adjournment the chair noted a time-sensitive Medcare grant that would require a town vote and a memorandum of understanding; to accommodate that timeline the board scheduled a special Select Board meeting on Wednesday, May 20 at 4:00 p.m. and a Special Town Meeting on Monday, June 1 at 6:00 p.m.
The board set a public hearing for Bill Hilly’s liquor license on May 26 at 5:30 p.m. and asked staff to request attendance and to check with the sheriff’s office. No final license decision was made at the May 12 meeting.
