"There is a $2 million matching grant that we can throw at this problem...but as you look at the appendix the cost of this plan is well more than $2 million," he said, adding that the task force will seek the best first‑step investments.
Staff emphasized prioritizing work that protects infrastructure and leverages external funding. Walker Park and adjacent harbor frontage were cited as priority areas for resilience measures that both protect town assets and maintain the waterfront’s character.
No decisions on borrowing or project design were made at the workshop; the task force will return recommendations on project phasing and funding approaches for board review.
