Village of Robbins approves multiple resolutions, RTA planning items and EPA consent order

The Village of Robbins Board of Trustees on Feb. 28 approved a bundle of resolutions and planning measures addressing tax assessment intervention, community-development participation and regional transit-oriented planning.
Trustees voted to authorize intervention in property tax assessment proceedings (Resolution 2-28-23) and to participate in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program (Resolution 2-28-23 A). Both measures passed with Trustees Dyson, Maxey, Robinson, Jackson and Collier voting aye; Trustee Brewton was absent.
The board also approved three RTA-related items: the RTA Oriented Development and Industrial Areas Plan; a Memorandum of Understanding (CPP 2022-05) with the RTA; and the scope of work for a TOD (transit-oriented development) zoning code update. Those motions were presented and approved during new business and carried with the same roll-call pattern (Dyson, Maxey, Robinson, Jackson, Collier — aye; Brewton — absent).
The board approved an EPA Order of Consent after a motion by Trustee Robinson, seconded by Trustee Dyson. The motion carried with present trustees voting aye.
Among routine motions, the board moved to defer approval of the warrant list to the next regular meeting. The body also approved minutes from prior sessions at the start of the meeting.
One personnel action recorded a dissent: the swearing in of Frank Sanders as lieutenant of police passed on a roll call with Trustees Dyson, Maxey, Jackson and Collier voting aye and Trustee Robinson voting nay; Trustee Brewton was absent.
The meeting recessed into closed session later in the evening to discuss pending litigation and adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
Votes at a glance: all recorded motions except the police lieutenant swearing-in had unanimous aye votes among trustees present; Brewton was absent for all recorded roll calls.
