The permit paperwork was submitted on a state-standard form that lists CMP and CCI; the board asked for clarification about which company will own and maintain the pole, whether nearby existing poles will be removed, and how the proposed installation complies with Rockport’s pole ordinance.
Given regulatory constraints (the board acknowledged certain pole-location rules are governed by the Public Utilities Commission), members nonetheless said they could and should use the permit review to press for compliance and to seek removal of redundant poles over time. The board moved to table the application and request further information from CMP and CCI; the motion passed by voice vote.
