Covington discusses traffic-calming options for Maple Street and Buccaneer Way

Council member Dawn Duff recommended placing stop signs before installing speed bumps; Police Chief Tim Cline recommended prohibiting parking on both sides of Buccaneer Way to improve safety and flow. Legal Counsel Frank Patrizio advised that implementing signage or parking restrictions would require an ordinance or resolution.
Mayor Lee Harmon, Administrator Rench and Chief Cline agreed to review the options and return to council with a recommendation. No formal motion to adopt traffic-calming measures was made at this meeting.
