District superintendent and principals report completed nurse’s office, testing schedules and a bus driver retirement

Superintendent Drew Billeter reported that the elementary school nurse’s office renovation is complete and that electrical switches were installed at the junior-senior high building. He also said the district selected Wood River Energy as the Choice Gas supplier for one year.
Billeter told the board a special education meeting for home-schooled students is scheduled for April 22, 2025 at 3:40 p.m. in the junior-senior high library. Principal Tara Fries reported on MAPS assessments and upcoming NSCAS state testing, along with scheduled field trips and music concerts. Principal Matt Springer outlined Grade 6 orientation plans, said the 2025–26 junior-senior high schedule is nearly complete, and noted some students meeting established criteria may not be required to complete second-semester semester testing.
Springer also reported that bus driver Howard Kester will retire; the board discussed 2025–26 bus routes and the costs associated with training new bus drivers. These items were presented as operational updates and will be addressed administratively following the meeting.
