Planning Board delays zoning bylaw amendments, names representative for review project

The Middleton Planning Board decided at its April 8 meeting not to place proposed zoning bylaw amendments on the May 2026 Town Meeting warrant. Planning Director Anna Carmer said the Select Board is interested in forming a smaller group to conduct a deeper review of proposed zoning amendments; the group would include representatives from the Planning Board, Select Board, Bylaw Review Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals and is expected to meet roughly every other month for about six meetings through Spring 2027.
Member Jason Bernhard volunteered to represent the Planning Board on the review project. No specific meeting dates were set during the April 8 meeting.
Next step: the boards and committees will work to identify representatives and set a meeting schedule for the multi-board zoning bylaw review project.
