Council on Aging forms bylaws review committee, welcomes new member

Chairperson Margaret Alfonso said the Middleton Council on Aging voted April 29 to form a committee to review and recommend updates to the council's bylaws.
Alfonso said the review is intended to correct outdated details — including an old building address — and ensure the board meets requirements in the Town bylaws, which she noted call for a minimum of 51% of board members to be seniors. "We should update the old building address to the S. Main St. address and consider any other needed clarifications," Alfonso told members.
Alfonso made the motion to form the bylaws review committee; Norma Andreucci seconded and the motion carried with all members present voting in favor. Earlier in the meeting the board also approved the March 25, 2026 minutes on a motion by Vice Chair Dr. Joan Shea-Desmond and a second from Wendy Tirck.
The board welcomed Norma Andreucci as a new member; members noted her involvement with the Historical Society and volunteer work at the town Food Pantry. The bylaws committee will be formed from board members and is expected to report back with proposed amendments for the council's consideration.
The council's next regular meeting is scheduled for May 27, 2026, at 10 a.m.
