Southwest Public Schools board accepts two resignations, hires a teacher and holds closed session on personnel

Later in the meeting the board voted to enter closed session to discuss the resignation of Michael Brodd “for the needless injury to the reputation of an individual,” a motion made by Derek Meyers and seconded by John O’Dea. Board members recessed into closed session and returned at 8:18 p.m.; following that session, a motion by O’Dea and second by Duane Teter carried to accept Brodd’s resignation effective at the end of the school year.
The board also approved a teacher contract for Carly Rodaway at the junior-senior high school (moved by O’Dea, seconded by Teter). All recorded personnel votes listed in the minutes carried without recorded nays.
The meeting followed the board’s standard procedures, including recorded motions and roll-call style votes. The board adjourned at 8:19 p.m. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at the Southwest Junior-Senior High School in Bartley.
