The Sutherland Public Schools Board ratified a contract with a website and app provider during its April meeting, approving a one-time setup fee and an annual access fee intended to modernize the district’s web presence and streamline social-media posting.
Administrators said the district’s current website is outdated and difficult to manage; adopting the new platform will allow staff to post once and push that content automatically to Facebook and Instagram, to the website and to a district app. Board members and staff praised the simpler backend and training that the vendor will provide; the superintendent and administrators described the platform as a time-saver for communications tasks.
The contract discussion included the vendor’s quoted startup cost and a negotiated discount. The transcript records a $4,900 one-time setup fee and an $8,000 annual fee (subject to a 5% annual increase); board members described those numbers and then moved to ratify the contract. Roll-call votes were recorded in favor and the motion carried.
What happens next: administration will finalize onboarding with the vendor, migrate content and coordinate logins and training for staff. The board asked that the superintendent and IT staff oversee the rollout and report any material changes back to the board.
