During the Nov. 24 meeting the commission reviewed upcoming dates and a personnel update.
Announcements included the Christmas parade on Dec. 7 at 4 p.m., the Dec. 16 city council meeting at 6:30 p.m., the planning commission meeting on Dec. 22 at 6:30 p.m., and city offices closing Dec. 25–26 for the holidays.
A commissioner announced they will not seek reappointment when their term ends at the end of December; another commissioner (Butch Price) said he will renew his term. The commission noted it will post for a new member and choose a new chairperson next year.
Why it matters: The personnel change triggers the municipal appointment process for the commission and may change leadership next year.
Next steps: Staff will post the vacancy and the commission will elect a new chair in the new term.
