Loretta Zavala, who presented the grant breakdown, said Title I funds were projected at $4,447,536 and would be primarily allocated to staff salaries and instructional materials (about 80–88%), with small percentages for professional development and parent‑involvement activities. She also described Title II ($577,380) for teacher and leader development, Title III ($261,569) to support English‑language learners, and Title IV ($338,132) for safe‑and‑well‑rounded learning and technology.
Board members had an opportunity to ask questions about the slide deck and funding percentages; no public speakers offered comments on the grant. After the presentation the board moved and passed a motion to approve the ESSA application as presented. The approval authorizes district staff to submit the validated federal grant application and use the funds according to the allocations presented at the hearing.
