The Orangeburg County Planning Commission on Dec. 10 elected officers and adopted its regular monthly meeting schedule for the upcoming year.
Planning Director Preston McClun opened nominations. Commissioner Stephon Edwards nominated Wilmont Berry for chairman, a nomination seconded by Commissioner Andy Parrish; the commission voted 5-0 for Berry. Edwards also nominated Commissioner Curtis Ott for vice chairman, seconded by Parrish; the commission voted 5-0 for Ott. Chairman Berry nominated staff member Hannah Earle for secretary, seconded by Parrish; the commission voted 6-0 to confirm her in that role.
Chairman Berry announced that the Nov. 11 meeting date was a holiday and proposed replacing it with Nov. 10. After discussion, the commission voted 6-0 to keep meetings on the second Wednesday of each month with the November substitution.
All officer votes and the schedule adoption were recorded in the meeting minutes. No contested nominations or public comments on the elections or schedule were recorded in the meeting transcript.
