Wallace board installs new leadership, swears in two newly appointed trustees

At its Dec. 10 meeting the Village of Wallace Board of Trustees nominated and seated two new trustees, reorganized officers and approved multiple administrative appointments and signature arrangements for the coming year.
The Village of Wallace Board of Trustees held its regular meeting Dec. 10, 2024, and completed a reorganization that included two trustee nominations, oaths of office and a slate of administrative appointments.
DoAnn McDonald moved — and Madisen Clough seconded — to nominate Brian Banks to the Village Board; that motion passed 3‑0. Christina Daniels then moved and McDonald seconded to nominate John May; that motion also passed 3‑0. Oaths of office were administered to Madisen Clough, Brian Banks and John May during the meeting.
At the reorganization votes the board reappointed Mary May as clerk; the trustees appointed Madisen Clough as chairperson and DoAnn McDonald as vice chairperson. The board also appointed Scott Sauser as maintenance person and named Kathy Fowler and Lea VanBoening co‑librarians. Where roll‑call votes were recorded, appointments carried unanimously.
The board approved the village bank (Dayspring) and set signature‑card authorizations: Chairman Clough and Clerk Mary May were added to savings and CD accounts; Chairman Clough, Vice Chair McDonald and Clerk Mary May were authorized to sign checks. The board approved Crystal Friesen for the library checking account signature card.
The reorganization concluded with reappointments of several professional service providers and vendors: Tom Werblow of TC Engineering remains village engineer and street superintendent; Schroeder & Schroeder remain village attorneys; McChesney Martin Sagehorn, PC and R J Meyers were reappointed as accountants; the Grant Tribune was reappointed as newspaper of record.
The board set its next regular meeting for Jan. 14, 2025.
Members present who participated in these actions included Chair Gary Hager, Trustees Christina Daniels, Anna Griffiths, Madisen Clough, DoAnn McDonald and newly seated Trustees Brian Banks and John May. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
