Crawford council approves water-system purchases, hydro-vac trailer for lead reporting compliance

The council approved purchase of three Bray pneumatic air actuators ($2,500.00), three 6-inch Class 125 silent check valves ($5,931.00), and two controllers and turbidimeters from Hach ($2,520.00). Council discussed these as repairs and updates to replace failing equipment at the water plant.
To support a state-required lead report due in October 2024, the council approved acquisition of an FX20B hydro-vac trailer from Ditch Witch for $39,900.00. Minutes state the hydro-vac is needed to excavate meter pits and water lines to identify pipe types for reporting requirements.
Council also approved allocating ARPA funds totaling $152,372.88 (balance as of July 31, 2024) and any interest earned through Dec. 31, 2024, for the Infiltration Overflow Outlet Relocation Project; any remaining funds from that obligation would be directed to a bulk water station project. The ARPA obligation passed with Council Member Brent Gebbie recorded as abstaining on that item.
