Crawford council fills vacancy, assigns board liaisons
Summary
After accepting a resignation, the Crawford City Council appointed Brent Gebbie to the vacant seat, approved board liaison assignments and made related personnel decisions at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mayor Shane Norman opened the Aug. 27 Crawford City Council meeting and the council accepted the resignation of Council member Robert Tovmassian.
Mayor Norman recommended Brent Gebbie to fill the vacancy. Council President April Grant moved to approve the appointment; Council Member Christopher Dean seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Following the appointment, council members selected board liaisons for city committees and partners. April Grant was assigned to Ponderosa Villa; Christopher Dean to Golf; Brent Gebbie to Park and Hospital liaisons. The assignments were selected by council members based on availability.
The council also removed employee Edward Blacksheep from a 90-day probationary status and approved a $0.47-per-hour raise. Separately, the council approved a $0.50-per-hour raise contingent on Edward Blacksheep obtaining a Class 4 water operator’s license.
The meeting record shows the council acted by motion and recorded aye votes for members present; where abstentions occurred, they are noted in the minutes.
