Loomis trustees approve claims, schedule April clean-up day, authorize credit-card personnel and OK building permit

The Village of Loomis Board of Trustees approved routine financial business and several community measures at its March 10 regular meeting at the Loomis Community Building.
Chairman Keith Fagot opened the meeting at 7:02 p.m. and the board voted 5-0 to approve the agenda, the previous month’s minutes and the financial reports. Ben Collin moved to approve the financial reports and claims, which included line items such as a $28,530.13 claim to Sargent Drilling Co. and payroll of $5,684.65; Maxine Berry seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board heard an annual report presented by John Hamling and Rick Bergman of Southern Public Power District; the minutes record that the report was presented but do not include details of the presentation.
On community services, the board agreed to hold Village clean-up day on Monday, April 28, 2025, and to continue providing tire disposal for village residents only. The motion to schedule the event was moved by Melanie Freeman, seconded by Maxine Berry and passed 5-0.
In a separate procedural action, the trustees adopted a resolution reauthorizing the personnel listed on the village’s UMB credit card profile. The resolution was moved by Ben Collin, seconded by Maxine Berry, and approved unanimously. The minutes do not list the individual names on the UMB profile in-line with the motion text.
Matt and Casey Klein requested a building permit for a 40x56x12 structure at 610 Pacific Street with curb work for the entrance. Don Masten moved to accept the permit; Melanie Freeman seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
Clerk MJ Pristavec reported that the East Well requires replacement of the motor, pump, some pipe and a filter and that the work will be performed by an irrigation/contractor identified in the minutes as "Sergeant Irrigation." The minutes also include a large claim to Sargent Drilling Co.; the record does not clarify whether those two vendor names refer to the same company or to separate contractors.
Pristavec also updated the board on street-surfacing plans: the village will armor coat in the spring and then repair the crumbling sides of some streets during the summer months.
The board set its next regular meeting for 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Loomis Community Building. A motion to adjourn carried 5-0, and Chairman Keith Fagot adjourned the meeting at 7:42 p.m.
