The Village Board of Loomis on July 9 approved several routine administrative items, including permission for an annual off-road event, an encroachment permit for an air-conditioning unit, and payment of the month’s claims.
Event permit: Scott Thorell requested use of village property for the annual Tuff Trucks. On motion by Melanie Freeman and second by Don Masten the board granted permission provided the event organizer submits a certificate of insurance and follows the village ordinance that prohibits alcohol on village property. The motion passed unanimously among trustees present.
Property encroachment: The board unanimously approved a motion allowing Tracy Thorell to install an air-conditioning unit that will overhang village property, with any water or drainage issues from the unit to be the responsibility of Tracy Thorell.
Claims and routine approvals: The board approved the month’s claims as presented. The minutes list paid vendors and amounts including Johnson Service Company ($5,375.75), Miller and Associates ($3,137.05), Schaben Sanitation ($3,272.10), wages ($5,950.26), and other vendors; the motion to approve claims passed 4–0 with Trustee Ben Collin absent.
