Clarks approves budget transfers, claims, and cemetery mowing contract

At its March 12 meeting the Village of Clarks Board of Trustees approved routine financial items, accepted vendor claims and payroll, and handled several small-contract decisions.
On the consent agenda the board approved meeting minutes from Feb. 12, transfers of $1,500 from Sales Tax to the Resin Reserve Fund and $3,750 from Sales Tax to the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Reserve Fund, and the treasurer’s report and claims list. The claims listed payroll ($10,945.49) and payroll taxes/sales tax ($3,174.05) among other vendor claims; the consent agenda motion was made by Trustee James Parsons and seconded by Trustee Dylan Drummond and passed 3-0.
The board accepted a bid from Phillip Johnson to purchase the village’s 2008 John Deere lawn mower (motion by Parsons, second Drummond; roll call 3-0). It also approved a contract with Kelly Urkoski to perform cemetery mowing for $6,000 and deferred action on the village lawn-maintenance bid from Manstedt K‑Lawn until the April meeting. The bathroom renovation project was likewise postponed until April.
Other items in the minutes include vendor and contract claims (for example, Myers Insurance for $12,793.25 and Sapp Bros. fuel for $3,462.52) and routine administrative notes. The board set its next regular meeting for April 9, 2025 at 7 p.m.
