Unanimous Consent: The Council approved a two-item Unanimous Consent Agenda on a roll call vote of 7-0. The consent included approving FY2026 property tax abatements totaling $511,225.47 related to appeals before the Board of Tax and Land Appeals (BTLA) and adopting a new site lease agreement with T‑Mobile Northeast LLC for 100 Durham Point Road, with the Town Administrator authorized to finalize non‑substantive language in the contract.
Resolutions and honors: Councilor Heather Grant moved to adopt Resolution #2026-01 recognizing the work of the Housing Task Force; Housing Task Force Chair Sally Tobias displayed the Municipal Leadership Award and described the task force’s work on zoning and 79-E provisions. The resolution was adopted by roll call vote, 7-0. The award was given to Town Planner Michael Behrendt to display in his department.
Appointments: The Council approved two appointments: Christopher Smith was appointed to a regular position on the Energy Committee (term expiration April 2027) after introducing himself and citing relevant experience; Emma Hollander was appointed as an alternate to the Planning Board (term expiration April 2029). Both appointments passed unanimously, 7-0.
Minutes and other votes: The Council approved minutes for Dec. 8, 2025 (6-0 with Councilor Heather Grant abstaining because she was not present at that meeting) and Dec. 15, 2025 (7-0). The meeting adjourned at 8:47 p.m. after a unanimous motion to adjourn.
