Robbins board adopts ordinance setting community center rental rates

Mayor Darren E. Bryant presided over the meeting and noted that the village’s prior ordinance on same-day liquor licenses will need to be updated to align with the new rental rates. The ordinance was presented and approved as part of the meeting’s new-business agenda.
The action followed routine approvals earlier in the meeting: Trustees approved the Oct. 28 regular minutes (Trustee Thomas Harper Jr moved; Trustee Chanel Kelly seconded; Trustee Jeanneen Holmes abstained) and the Oct. 14 special minutes. The board also accepted the October treasurer’s report, which showed total funds of $591,691.37.
Village Clerk Sharon Dyson reported recent receipts for the period Oct. 14–Nov. 7, 2025, including Community Center event rental fees of $780.00, flea-market receipts of $9,299.00 and liquor-license fees of $1,750.00. Clerk Dyson also thanked Deputy Clerk Ryan Buckley for filling in during her absence.
What this means: Establishing a posted rental schedule gives renters and staff a clear fee structure for events at the community center and may require ministerial updates to related fee ordinances, including the same‑day liquor-license charge mentioned by the mayor. The ordinance text and effective date were entered into the record as Ordinance 11-10-25.
