Selectman Daniel Staples said he preferred a bronze plaque but the board cited concerns that a plaque could be stolen and would require more ongoing care. The motion to proceed with granite engraving carried 5-0-0.
No installation date or vendor-installation terms were recorded in the minutes. The selectmen's decision favors a lower-cost, lower-maintenance engraved treatment for the memorial.
