Olsson presented a plan to extend the work through Stage Coach Road, revise the curb to a more standard 6‑inch barrier, and phase construction to maintain access for residents.
Council members asked whether sanitary sewer or other utility work would be done while the street is torn up; staff and Olsson said no sanitary sewer work had been identified but that water and any needed utility repairs would be coordinated if found. Hawk said the firm would confirm utility needs during final design and survey; if additional utility work is needed, it would be addressed before paving.
Timing and staging were discussed: Olsson said it would begin survey work if the agreement is finalized and aim for construction and completion in the fall, with October as a target that could slide into November depending on weather. The firm said it typically phases work (for example, repaving one half of the street and then the other) and coordinates temporary access and parking with affected property owners.
Council moved to approve the Agreement for Professional Services by Olsson for Street Project M-34238 (road replacement on Wagon Train Avenue from Wagon Train Road to Stage Coach Road). The motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
The vote clears the consultant agreement and authorizes final design and procurement steps; the contract documents will be edited to expressly state the project limits as Wagon Train to Stage Coach. The council did not specify a construction contract award at this meeting. The city clerk will record the final agreement and follow up with schedule and property‑access notices to residents.
