Harlem UD 122 honors Battle of the Books champions, bowling teams and Educators Rising participants

District officials recognized Ralston Elementary’s Battle of the Books champion team “Boom! We Win,” HMS boys and girls bowling teams, and students from the Educators Rising program at the May 18 board meeting.
Dr. Jason Blume, assistant superintendent for communications and community relations, introduced district recognitions at the May 18 Harlem Consolidated School District #122 board meeting.
Blume presented Ralston Elementary’s Battle of the Books champion team — named Boom! We Win — and Ms. Schmidt introduced the students and highlighted their preparation and teamwork. Coach Kelly acknowledged the achievements of Harlem Middle School’s boys and girls bowling teams, noting individual bowler accomplishments and the broader program support. Stacy Hubley-Taylor outlined the Educators Rising program, describing student participation at a recent conference that included children’s literature activities, speech competitions on positive teaching and a Spanish-language speech about pursuing a teaching career.
The recognitions were presented early in the meeting as part of district awards and acknowledgments. No formal board action was required for these presentations.
