The Wallace Village Board of Trustees met May 13, 2025, and by unanimous consent approved the meeting agenda and the minutes of April 8, 2025. Chairperson Madisen Messersmith Clough opened the session at 7:00 p.m. and reminded attendees of the Public Open Meetings Law posted on the board room wall; she also said the Village was recording the meeting after asking whether anyone else was recording (the minutes say no one was).
The board placed the Budget/Financial report on file and approved the listed claims. Major disbursements recorded in the minutes included payments to Sargent Drilling ($23,154.27), CMH Interiors ($21,121.66) and Schaben Sanitation ($4,248.63); payroll was listed at $6,772.59 and EFTPS at $1,549.96. The minutes provide a full claims list without additional details about the projects or contracts supporting each payment.
Trustees discussed the Nebraska Vacant Property Registration Act; the minutes record the Act as a discussion topic but show no motion to adopt implementing local measures. The board also noted that dumpsters would arrive May 15, 2025, and be available through the summer. Trustees said they would look into various grant opportunities; the minutes do not name specific programs or funding amounts.
Also present were Scott Sauser and Micaela Wuehler, listed in the minutes as attendees; the minutes do not assign them titles. The meeting adjourned at 8:36 p.m. The board set its next meeting for June 11, 2025.
