The Malcolm Board of Trustees tabled action on the construction agreement for the new Malcolm Fire Department and related water-line cost-sharing at its Oct. 1 meeting, moving the items to the Nov. 5 agenda.
Fire Chief Corey Heidtbrink, residents Kathy and Henrick Christensen, and engineer Reed Miller discussed cost-sharing options for the waterlines. The minutes record the fire department will research the cost of installing a well while the board will examine USDA loan options. The matter was explicitly tabled so the board and stakeholders could gather additional cost and financing information.
Separately, the board discussed relocation of a light base for Legion Field and noted the county is initiating paperwork to vacate NW 105th Street; the Village Attorney will send a letter to county commissioners outlining the village's progress on light relocation.
