The Village of Malcolm Board of Trustees voted Aug. 21, 2024, to offer the village clerk $25.00 per hour, a $400 monthly stipend and $50 per month for cell phone usage during a special meeting at Village Hall, 137 East 2nd Street.
Trustee Little moved to approve the pay package; Trustee Benes seconded the motion. The Chairperson called for the vote and recorded AYE votes from Little, Tarr, Lemkau and Benes; there were no NAY votes. The motion carried 4-0, with Trustee Faubion recorded as abstaining.
Board members said they had reviewed the wage the clerk suggested at her interview on Aug. 15 and compared compensation with clerks in municipalities of similar size before making the motion. The meeting minutes note no visitors were present.
The meeting agenda and actions were filed as a special meeting; notice had been posted Aug. 15 at the Village Hall, the Post Office and the Fire Station, per the minutes. With no further business, Trustee Little moved to adjourn at 6:45 p.m.; Trustee Faubion seconded. The Chairperson called the vote, recorded AYE votes from Little, Tarr, Lemkau, Benes and Faubion, and the meeting was adjourned by a 5-0 vote.
