Manley appoints Andrew Garey to Planning Commission; renews Keep Cass County Beautiful membership

At its Jan. 9 meeting the Village of Manley Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Planning Commission member Rebbecca Goble and appointed Andrew Garey to the commission. Chair Denise Swenson read Goble’s resignation and a request letter from Andrew Garey; Trustee Tim Glas moved to accept the resignation and appoint Garey, a motion seconded by Trustee Joe Shera. The motion passed with one abstention from Trustee Madison Garey.
The board also voted unanimously to renew Keep Cass County Beautiful membership at the Gold level for $125 after Chair Swenson read the membership options. Trustee Tim Glas moved to renew the membership and Chair Swenson seconded the motion.
During the meeting, resident Don Colbert asked that speed bumps be removed during winter to reduce stress on equipment; trustees discussed potential results but made no motion on the request. The board noted that keys and a snow-removal schedule had been assigned to Jarod Paul and Patrick McAndrew.
Chair Swenson said the board is awaiting the written resignation of former commissioner Trent Stott, who gave a verbal resignation in December 2024. The current planning commission roster was noted in the minutes.
