Manley board discusses community center water damage; Thrasher Foundation Repair bid scheduled to start Jan. 28

At the Jan. 9 meeting, the Village of Manley Board of Trustees discussed water damage in the downstairs portion of the community center behind the bookshelves and reviewed a bid from Thrasher Foundation Repair.
Chairman Denise Swenson said Thrasher Foundation Repair submitted a bid covering water damage repair, mold remediation and prevention and that the contractor is scheduled to begin work on Jan. 28. The village plans to move books and shelving out of the work area and to obtain a dehumidifier before repairs begin.
Trustees also reviewed a short list of small community center projects: replacing a microwave, cleaning the oven, and hanging a display case. The board discussed criteria for possible security cameras (suggested 6–8 cameras, motion-activated and linked to the village computer) but recorded no procurement motion.
The board noted Rodriguez Concrete was awarded the road patching bid for Main & Locust at the emergency meeting; that project and the community center repairs were identified as uses of previously obligated 2020 ARPA funds. No formal motion to award the Thrasher contract appears in the minutes; the clerk will follow up on scheduling and preparations ahead of the contractor's start date.
