Manley affirms Crossroads Church sign permit, tables Catholic Church fence permit and nuisance ordinance

At the July 11 meeting the Village of Manley Board of Trustees affirmed a building permit for a permanent replacement sign for Crossroads Church but tabled the Catholic Church rectory fence application and an updated nuisance ordinance until the August meeting when additional materials or maps can be provided.
The Crossroads Church sign permit was affirmed by motion of Trustee Patricia Gruber and seconded by Trustee Phillip Tapp; the motion carried with four trustees voting yes and one excused. The Catholic Church rectory fence application—which minutes state will be a 6-foot-high, 110-foot-long fence extending 18 feet from the house and running to the garage—was tabled so the board can review a site map or visual before making a decision.
During public forum, resident Justin Colbert said he plans to divide a parcel on Highway 1 and seek a zoning change to build a house on his grandmother’s property; the board said a Planning Commission meeting will be scheduled when Colbert provides required documents. Several ordinance items including nuisance, fireworks, and peddlers were not presented in detail and were postponed to future meetings.
The board moved its regular August meeting to Tuesday, Aug. 13, and set a Special Meeting for July 29 to address items including the trash contract and LARM renewal.
