The Village of Manley Board of Trustees approved several administrative measures at its July 11 meeting, including contracting facility cleaning, switching to QuickBooks Online, and temporarily allowing single-signature check signing for July.
Trustees approved PDM Pressure Washing to clean the pickleball courts, picnic shelter and the old playground for a combined price of $1,100 after Trustee Marcie LaFleur moved and Trustee Patricia Gruber seconded the motion; the motion carried with four trustees voting yes and one trustee excused. The board discussed playground mulch shortages and other small community center maintenance projects.
Village Clerk Lindsy Cronk told trustees that QuickBooks is phasing out the desktop version the village currently uses and outlined advantages of moving to QuickBooks Online, including a promotional 75% discount for the first 12 months. Trustee Patricia Gruber moved to switch to QuickBooks Online at the discounted rate ($242.50 for the first 12 months); the motion passed on a 4–0 vote with one trustee excused.
Separately, Trustee Patricia Gruber moved, and Marcie LaFleur seconded, a temporary rule allowing only one signature to sign checks during July; that motion also passed. Trustees said the one-signature rule was limited to the month of July.
These administrative approvals were procedural; no long-term contracts beyond the cleaning and software subscription were finalized at the meeting for other items that had been tabled for future discussion.
