Joe’s Kwik Marts won ZBA approval Feb. 27 to reface a nonconforming freestanding sign to display a new brand panel (from Speedway to Exxon) at 1215 Route 300. Stanley Barth said the sign would remain in the same position and size and that the refacing would not introduce new illumination or larger dimensions.
Chairman Scalzo and the Board treated the application as a Type II SEQRA action for replacement in kind and ran the standard five‑factor area‑variance review. Members concluded the change would not materially alter neighborhood character or create environmental impacts. Donna Rein moved approval; Darrell Bell seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the variance.
