Maywood Board approves $343,318 in claims, buys 78 Chromebooks and adopts new math curriculum

The Maywood Board of Education voted on March 9, 2026 in the Media Center to approve its consent agenda, authorize technology purchases, adopt a new math curriculum for secondary grades and advance district planning items.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included minutes, claims and payroll totaling $343,318.57; the Financial report listed General Fund checks and vendor claims, lunch and activity fund expenditures, petty cash disbursements, and a payroll total of $270,719.50. A General Fund check to Harco Athletic Reconditioning, Inc. (#7806) for $3,317.00 was listed as voided. The consent motion passed 5-0.
Under Business Items the board approved district school improvement goals and unanimously approved several operational items. The board authorized purchase of 78 Chromebooks from Computer Hardware for $37,479.00 to support classroom technology. The board also approved the Maywood reVision plan, a district planning document presented at the meeting.
In curriculum action, the board adopted Reveal Mathematics for grades 7— at a cost of $20,412.42; that motion likewise passed unanimously, 5-0.
All formal motions recorded at the meeting carried unanimous votes. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m.; Superintendent Mr. Bejot reported he had received the certified state aid figures for next year and noted upcoming Special Education meetings and other scheduling items. Principal Mr. McCain briefed the board on upcoming school events and NAEP testing. The board adjourned at 7:35 p.m. and set its next regular meeting for April 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Library.
