Bolton Heritage Farm Commission sets 2025 meeting schedule, hears maintenance and project updates

The Bolton Heritage Farm Commission approved its 2025 meeting calendar and received status updates on campus maintenance and several ongoing projects at its Nov. 4 meeting at Bolton Town Hall.
Chairman Arlene Fiano called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. Treasurer Cara Wraight moved to set the commission's 2025 meeting dates and Rhea Klein seconded; the commission approved the schedule for meetings on Jan. 6; Feb. 3; Mar. 3; Apr. 7; May 5; June 2; July 7; Aug. 4; Sept. 8; Oct. 6; Nov. 3; and Dec. 1. Earlier in the meeting Rhea Klein moved to defer approval of the Sept. 9, 2024 minutes until the commission's next meeting; no one opposed.
Building and grounds supervisor John Butrymovich reported his crew has been mowing and pulling stones from the walking path as part of routine maintenance. The commission recorded that contractor Roger of Country Carpenters completed a house carrying-beam replacement, installing an 8x8 beam and 2'x8' joists.
Commission member Rhea Klein reported fundraising results for the Rosie Fund, which now totals $6,861.26 after proceeds from her Summer Yoga Series. Klein said she is preparing a grant application, with a target submission date of Feb. 1, to fund a climate-controlled display case for Digging for History artifacts. The commission discussed the Bentley Memorial Library’s display case, which is available in February or March; Chairman Fiano said she will check the library’s schedule and the commission discussed holding a library Q&A during the display month to showcase the farm.
On event planning, Treasurer Cara Wraight told the commission she received a letter from Patti Cinea of the Church of Saint Maurice about participation in the town’s Sleigh Bells Ring fair; Wraight submitted a $55 bank check ($45 fair fee plus a $10 bank fee) to register the commission for the Nov. 23 event. The commission also discussed planning workshops as needed for winter fairs.
On capital items, Butrymovich said there is no update yet on the manure pit proposal; he is soliciting quotes and said the highest bid will be forwarded to the Capital Improvement Commission for consideration. The commission also reported no new updates on the LOTCIP trail design follow-up or NPS wayfinding signage.
The meeting concluded with a motion from Klein, seconded by Ann Maulucci, to adjourn; the meeting ended at 7:38 P.M. Cara Wraight submitted the minutes as "Respectfully Submitted" and noted any formal approval or corrections will appear in subsequent meeting minutes.
