Bolton Heritage Farm Commission approves minutes, accepts $400 donation and hears maintenance and program updates

The Bolton Heritage Farm Commission on Aug. 5 approved the minutes of its July 8 regular meeting, acknowledged a $400 donation from Bolton resident Debbie Livingston, and received updates on maintenance and programming.
Leslie Shea moved to accept the July 8 minutes with corrections; Ann Maulucci seconded the motion and the minutes were recorded as accepted. Chairman Arlene Fiano also noted that Paula Lynn was seated in place of absent Vice Chairman Beth Harney for the meeting.
Treasurer Cara Wraight told the commission the group had received a $400 donation from Debbie Livingston, who runs with the Shenipsit Striders cross-country team; Wraight said she will send a thank-you note. Building and grounds supervisor John Butrymovich reported that his crew has been mowing, cutting up trees and removing firewood from the Farm.
Rhea Klein reported she had spoken with Christine Pittsley to help craft a narrative for a grant tied to a climate-controlled display case for the 'Digging for History' artifacts. Klein also is leading the summer yoga program that started Aug. 5 at 6:30 P.M.; donations from the public were encouraged.
Under new business, Chairman Fiano proposed holding a workshop to gauge public interest in tree plantings; a few families have already volunteered. Klein suggested forming a "Friends of the Farm" membership to support fundraising efforts while the Commission remains under Town purview; members agreed to consider additional fundraising ideas.
There were no updates on the Bolton Heritage Farm accounts, the house carrying-beam replacement, NPS wayfinding signage, or grant search at this meeting. Rhea Klein moved to adjourn; Paula Lynn seconded, and the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 P.M. The minutes close with a note that any approval of these minutes and corrections will appear in subsequent meeting minutes.
