Limington select board to meet at Old Town Hall Dec. 4 as renovations begin

The Limington Select Board said it will hold its Dec. 4 meeting at the Old Town Hall at 7 p.m. as renovations begin, and invited the public to attend what officials described as a chance to commemorate the space before changes are made.
Board members said they are working with the historical society to document the room’s history and hoped the society could retain or repurpose fixtures removed during the renovation. The board also said it is exploring video capture of the meeting through SRTC so the event can be streamed.
During the public-comment period, resident Jesus Smith Morgan Le. urged the board to preserve and repurpose parts being removed from the Old Town Hall rather than discard them. "We're going to repurpose and hopefully most of it will stay there," the resident said, adding that the historical society was interested in retaining removed parts when possible.
Officials said the Dec. 4 meeting is intended to be more expansive than a routine session, noting displays and historical materials may be arranged for attendees. The board emphasized this will be a select board meeting rather than a town meeting; public comment is expected to be available that night.
