Multiple residents and a parent‑organization official spoke during the board’s public comment period on May 27 about Dr. Sybil Girard’s position at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT).
Speakers who addressed the board included Dr. Sybil Girard of Swedesboro; Gina Mateka of Deptford Township; Martino Cartier of Washington Township; and Jackie Chambers of Gibbstown. Sgt. Glynn Moore, identified in the minutes as an executive board member of the GCIT PTO, also made a statement to the commissioners.
Administrator Sweeney told commissioners that the matter involving Dr. Girard was the subject of ongoing litigation and cautioned against further public discussion by the board.
