Gloucester County commissioners approve contracts, grants and appointments; settle tax appeals

The Gloucester County Board of Commissioners approved a package of county resolutions at its May 27, 2026 meeting, authorizing contracts, grant applications and appointments across multiple departments.
The board voted to authorize settlement of State Tax Court tax appeals (Resolution 56615) and to award or renew several professional and vendor contracts: a one‑year engineering contract with Remington & Vernick Engineers not to exceed $249,100 (56616); contracts with Bach Associates PC and Bryson & Yates Consulting Engineers not to exceed $250,000 each (56633); a name change for Molinari & Associates to Molinari & Klauder (56634); and a contract with French & Parrello Associates not to exceed $75,000 (56635). Public safety procurements approved included agreements with Stryker Sales for $141,857.76 (56630), Motorola Solutions for $71,130.60 (56631) and Continuant, Inc. for $21,525.72 (56632).
Health and human services items approved included renewal of a New Jersey Division of Children’s System of Care youth incentive program grant for $41,132 (56623), an STD program grant application for $30,000 (56627) and applications or amendments for sustaining local public health infrastructure and childhood lead prevention grants with amounts to be determined (56626, 56628–56629). The board also approved agreements with municipalities for the FY2026 Alliance to Prevent Substance Use Disorder program (56625) and an amendment to a shared‑services agreement with the South Jersey Transportation Authority (56624).
The board recorded appointments to the Board of Education of the Vocational School District of the County of Gloucester (56621) and to the Improvement Authority of the County of Gloucester (56622). Commissioner Konawel questioned the process used to make board appointments; Administrator Sweeney responded to the inquiry during the meeting.
