The Limington Select Board on Dec. 4 scheduled a public hearing on a mass-gathering ordinance for Dec. 18, the board said during notifications and planning-board business.
Board members said the ordinance had been moved to the select board from the planning board and that public comment will be taken on Dec. 18 to gather resident input. The board indicated it needs to complete public outreach and any edits before making the ordinance ready for a town vote.
No formal action to adopt or amend the ordinance occurred at the Dec. 4 meeting; the scheduled Dec. 18 public hearing will be the next opportunity for residents to comment and for the board to consider changes ahead of any vote.
Next steps: the select board will hear public comment on Dec. 18 and continue work on the ordinance in subsequent meetings to prepare it for town consideration.
