Parks committee urges evacuation signage, questions safe-zone designations in safety element

Patty proposed signage, maps and instructions at fields for out-of-town visitors and flagged the need to coordinate with emergency responders. "Should our fields be designated as safe zones and should that be publicized?" she asked.
David Cardinal and others urged staff to consult emergency-preparedness officials and Woodside Fire to determine technical definitions and site suitability. The committee clarified that final decisions on safety-element language rest with ASC and planning commission input but recommended Parks & Rec provide written comments to inform those boards.
