Hyannis Area Schools board approves 2% administrator pay increase, clears $319,980.64 in bills

The Hyannis Area Schools Board unanimously approved administrative and business manager contracts that include a 2% salary increase for the 2026–27 school year and approved the consent agenda including $319,980.64 in general fund disbursements at its Jan. 12 meeting.

Kevin Anderson, treasurer, moved to approve the contracts and the 2% salary increase; Mark Vinton seconded. The motion passed with the recorded vote: Mark Vinton, Aye; Clint Taylor, Aye; Chris Cover, Aye; Kevin Anderson, Aye; Bob Meester, Aye; Justin Vinton, Aye.

Earlier in the meeting, the board approved the consent agenda on a motion by Clint Taylor, seconded by Chris Cover. The consent agenda included the Dec. 5, 2025 minutes and vendor disbursements summarized as: general fund $319,980.64; lunch fund $8,433.75; activity fund $21,560.59; special building fund $1,281.02. The minutes list vendor line items supporting those totals, including a Wells Fargo Equipment Finance bus lease payment of $71,500.00 and utilities and curriculum charges.

Business Manager Lauren Kostman and Superintendent Travis Hawk reported on a district financial review, a pending bus lease renewal, and calendar scenarios for the 2026–27 school year as part of the administrative report. The salary action was described by the board as agreed upon with the Personnel Committee; the minutes do not provide individual contract amounts beyond the 2% increase.
