The Canal Winchester City Council voted unanimously during its April 20 work session to forward three separate resolutions to the full Council for final action.
RES-26-019, moved by Councilmember David Payne and seconded by Hanna Detwiler, concerns an amended final development plan for the Violet Township fire station at 6969 Busey Road. Matt Peoples reported Planning and Zoning approved an access drive depiction and granted a variance allowing a 45-foot width for the main access drive; the fire department will later return for sign approval. The motion to move the item to full Council passed 7–0.
RES-26-020, moved by Laurie Amick and seconded by Will Bennett, authorizes the mayor to accept a 0.17-acre parcel dedicated as right-of-way for public use. Peoples said the parcel will accommodate a future water line and the Gender Road bike path. The motion passed 7–0.
RES-26-021, moved by Hanna Detwiler and seconded by Will Bennett, would exempt the Canal Winchester Sustainability Commission’s Great Garage Revival event from counting toward a code limit on the number of garage sales. Peoples said the exemption addresses occasional complaint-driven enforcement where multiple weekends of garage sales tied to charitable activity had raised parking and traffic concerns. The motion to send the resolution to full Council passed 7–0.
Each item was only moved to the full Council for final consideration; no final adoptions were recorded at the work session.
