The Greendale School Board began its June meeting by recognizing spring athletics and activities accomplishments across the district.
Administrators highlighted Greendale High School theater’s recognition at the Jerry Awards for productions Alice by Heart and Chicago Teen Edition and named individual student awards (outstanding lead performances to Fiona Glorioso and Lucy Merml; outstanding supporting to Roslin Crello; Spirit Awards and outstanding direction to Jeff Schetszky). The board invited students and staff to come forward for commendations and certificates.
On athletics, the board congratulated a number of sectional and state qualifiers: the girls 4x200 relay placed third at sectionals (1:46) and the boys 4x200 set a school record (1:27.41 at state), while individuals such as Jonathan Lopez placed fourth in the 100-meter dash. Several other athletes (tennis, golf, bowling) who could not attend were noted and will receive certificates at a future meeting.
The board and presenters thanked families, coaches and donors for support; the GHS robotics fundraiser and an anonymous donation were also recognized in communications.
